Mind you, I'm not one of these people that believes a person, at an individual level, can't live without meat (

).
But, understand the foul stuff don't to our food supply really just comes from the challenges with transporting and storing food for a population of over 300 million people every day, every year. Not to mention the billions worldwide.
Do people even understand how food works?
There isn't a way to naturally grow food and feed billions of people, regularly, across the whole world.
Yes, there is a lot of industrial bullshyt that's destroyed the environment, but, even that's done to serve a growing population.
The last 100 years has seen the population grow like 3 billion.
Why Americans Lead the World in Food Waste
Americans waste an unfathomable amount of food. In fact, according to
a Guardian report released this week, roughly 50 percent of all produce in the United States is thrown away—some 60 million tons (or $160 billion) worth of produce annually, an amount constituting “one third of all foodstuffs.” Wasted food is also the single biggest occupant in American landfills, the Environmental Protection Agency has found.
Key facts on food loss and waste you should know!
Every year, consumers in rich countries waste almost as much food (222 million tonnes) as the entire net food production of sub-Saharan Africa (230 million tonnes).
The problem with our food supply is due to capitalism...
Take a company like Monsanto...
Monsanto actually patents seeds by fukking genetically engineering some bullshyt
It takes their seeds to their farmers that got and says....
"Use our seeds and only our seeds..."
Farmers grow crops...
Naturally...a farmer would just use the fukking seeds that crops provide...but that's stealing from Monsanto...
So then farmers go and buy more Monsanto bullshyt...
Another example...
Farms are government subsidized...
Which would be a good idea...but no...it's a stupid idea under a capitalistic system because farmers naturally would artificially reduced crops for sale meanwhile growing the maximum amount of crops in order to take advantage of the subsidy...
So...your food is being thrown away before you even buy the shyt...
Another example....
Food is made to look appealing...not for nutritional value...no just so you can look at it and wanna buy it...
Farmers throw away perfectly good food...just because it doesn't look like you think it should look like...
The problem with things like healthcare in the USA or food...is the profit motive...
Healthcare industry and the agricultural industry is not trying to save lives or feed people it is trying to make money...
You can easily predict how much calories and food people need and then just grow enough food and feed the people...
It's not that hard...we know how much food people eat...we got population data, we got the data on how many calories food provide...
You also could predict how many people need houses and build houses and zone neighborhoods before are even born, which would then have you avoid housing bubbles...
But when necessary things that people need to live has a profit motive...you get people making excuses for the stupidity and inefficiencies...
The food industry is wasteful...
The healthcare industry is wasteful
The housing industry is wasteful...
And it is wasteful by design because without the waste, corporations and business people wouldn't make any money...
And what is more important...businesspeople making money or people having food, healthcare and homes...
