Not as important in my field - advertising is pretty informal, so I see a mix of headshots, snapshots, and selfies. Mine is my logo because I've made my disdain for pictures and nobody knowing what I look like unless they see me in person as part of my "brand"

Also in the same industry. I go with a professional headshot to weed out the agencies and stay on my "brand". But like you said, there are people at the highest levels (including hiring managers) with selfies, cropped out pics and all sorts of amateur shyt.
