Is Youtube Acting Really Slow Lately?

What's up with ya'll youtubes?

It's been widely reported that Youtube is throttled by almost all the major cable companies.

Also, they are switching everything to SSL by the end of this month(I belive, could be the end of this week); which could possibly mess with some of their load balancing while deploying their new scripts.

gets 12 seconds in.... and stops...... picks back up a minute later.

are you using firefox? i've had some speed issues but when i switch to chrome, everything works fine

my ISP definitely throttles buffer speeds, if you have downloadhelper on firefox you can download the youtube video much faster than waiting for it to buffer

Was like that for me for a while, but recently it picked back up. Try using HTML5
