DBZ made a bigger imprint on me because it was first and more of an "event" when you got home from school but Yu Yu Hakusho is better in a vacuum.

DBZ was a way of life... Yes on paper and in post revisionist history YYH was better

But, dbz was a movement and had intangibles that people who wasn't a part of it couldn't appreciate

No, like many others said, DBZ changed the way kids watched cartoons. Before DBZ the only way for most kids to watch hardcore shyt was watching power rangers or wrestling. shyt changed then everyday after school us lil nikkas was waiting for Toonami to come on.

Not to say YuYu Hakusho is bad, that shyt is piff too.

Dragon Ball Z had a far bigger impact on anime in the US as a whole, than YuYu did.
But YuYu Hakusho has much better writing, story, and more well developed characters.
Not knocking DBZ at all, since it is an older manga and anime, but YuYu was absolutely fantastic.
