Sad story all around.
The kid got snaked by Ainge after playing through his sister's death. I can't fault him for being in his feelings over that.
Just wish he hadn't let the 2017 performance go to his head. He's different now. He just is. Breh lost not one, but 2 or 3 steps because of that injury.
Roastin him for being short is irrelevant - breh just wasn't the same player when he came back. Whether its being away from the Boston system, Bron ball, or that injury, I can't tell - probably all 3 contributing to the lack of production. But he hasn't been producing.
I just wish he'd stayed off the court until he was fully healed, not said anything except how happy he was to be playing with Bron, and ride that huge positive 2017 media wave into a monster contract on a NBA Siberia team (PHX, SAC, ORL, IND, etc.). I don't blame the kid for being angry, but I do blame him for alienating a lot of people that were rooting for him.
I'm sure Bron teams are dysfunctional and IT was shocked at how bad it was when he finally started playing again...but still, keeping his mouth closed would've allowed him to maintain all that good media coverage and a team would have picked him up just for the draw. Regardless of how passive-aggressive and moody Bron is, when you challenge him publicly, you will lose unless you're a superior basketball player.
Needed better people with an understanding of public relations in his corner. The first outburst could've been papered over as "frustration" with his play or whatever - "I'm just a passionate guy who loves the game, and I wasn't playing at the level I expect of myself..." etc etc. But the locker room meeting...there was no coming back for breh after that.
I hate to see him go down like this, its just a shame. 15 games, some poorly conceived interview statements and a team meeting cost him $80+ million dollars. That's generational wealth potentially in the hands of a young black man that just disappeared. Hate it.
