Marc Lamont Hill is the best thing to happen to the pod, as his mere presence helps ppl see normalized degeneracy in Black spaces get debunked in real-time.

His presence showcases how often #BothSiders and Contrarians go unchecked in Black media spaces bc of status and charisma.

The clear difference in quality when a real scholar pulls up and pulls the veil for the audience to see.

Another recent example of this is Jess Hilarious being outshined when Loren LoRosa pulled up and took over the BreakfastClub audience by showing the difference between dumb unfounded gossip and actual real journalism.

The lesson from all is this that Black spaces need more scholars in position.

It elevates the content, information and can be just as entertaining.

I share this same sentiment on having political or social issues discussed by rappers or talking heads and not having a scholar or two there for perspective, context.

They are afraid of appearing stupid. But Joe did a brave thing here. He interjected someone who can balance the discussion without appearing arrogant.

And in this conversation i actually agree with MLH more than Ish. But i feel like TYT was misrepresenting Ish's position. In other words, Ish is wrong but not for the reasons TYT is saying. Marc was actually breaking it down and showing he understood Ish's position.

The title of this thread is kinda misleading too. Yes, ish did claim that "scientific studies have proven black people to be inferior to white people". But the reason he said that is to make the point that "scientific studies" are not reliable and can be bullshyt. So i do think this was a good debate between Ish and MLH because it explains how the scientific method works. But TYT is pretty much saying these types of conversations shouldn't happen.

And those same scientists that consultated them, do breakdowns explaining what’s just done for entertainment and what aligns with science, so the audience knows the difference and doesn’t conflate the two.

But they comfortably ignore that fact because it doesn’t align with their beliefs and narratives they try to push.

After seeing all of it (searched for the whole vid) I get the context of the whole situation.


The problem with the Ish dude is that he doesn’t like being wrong. He rather shut the conversation down than learn truth when its not his turn to talk.

If he wants to debate space then fine, because nobody I know been up there so I guess people can feel like that. But what MLH said about that science is correct.


And what Ish dude doesn’t understand is that science evolves… it also evolves mainly because of the scientific method. There’s nothing on earth thats ever went through the scientific method and peer reviewed that says the earth is flat.
