the pistons couldn't beat the lakers and celtics until they were old/injured. Pistons lost to celtics in 85 & 87 and beat them in '88 celtics primary players were in their 30's and been to the finals/ecf 6 out of 7 years.the celtics were old and done in '88 and they never made it out the 2nd round again

and the 2011 celtics big 3 were 33(pierce) 35 KG and 35 Ray. and hadn't won a title in 3 years...the 91 Pistons were the defending champions and best players were all between 27-31 years old. some how those pistons were "old" but those celtics were an epic opponent to overcome for 3 stars in their prime, and 2 of the 3 best players in the league at the time.
