This is a total lie I suspect... can I get any evidence of this from any source? All I see is more lies about ISIS to drum up support for an intervention in the region. Those people are disgusting enough, why do we need to invent things about them?

You could always go there for a first hand experience, thekingsmen.

What kind of evidence exactly would satisfy your skepticism?

Seems this way.

They recanted the paragraph in the OP.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story contained reporting about ISIS and education. CNN has concerns about the interpretation of the information provided and we will update the story when we can verify what is happening.

What about dem certs? Iz dem fine to lurn?

Their curriculum may be haphazard but it doesnt necessarily mean their instructors arent highly educated. I wonder if we can get a link to some of their dissertations.

If Islamists had things their way there wouldn't be electricity.

Some kind of a press release by ISIS... Third party confirmation... Hell anything to corroborate this. I googled and found nothing. This is supposedly an official edict. Just like the Yazidi on the mountain, I need receipts. They said there were 40 k people on the mountain, yet they haven't produced a photo. Damn right I'm skeptical given the track record in Iraq.

What and who exactly are you skeptical about though? Is CNN promoting some kind of agenda and, if so, why would they take down the story citing concerns about the source material?

How am I supposed to take Iraq existing at face value? Tell me.

If they took down the story down due to source material then kudos. I'm skeptical about the plethora of stories we're hearing about ISIS without any visual confirmation or even any internal leaks. From what we know they are what they say they are, which is brutal, but I think perhaps the people in Washington feel that they can embellish and say anything now about ISIS to make them seem like a super villain. The Pentagon essentially controls CNN and other outlets with regards to global affairs. 40k people went up a mountain according to the government and they have provided literally zero proof. 40k people would be an NFL stadium on full... yet not 1 photo from the bombers? I'm skeptical about anything I see or hear about ISIS from the mainstream media.

@88m3 don't be obtuse (again)... that is a total false equivalency. There is a source outside of the U.S. government that will tell you that Iraq exists. There is no source outside of the Pentagon that says most of these things. It's that simple.

Great, as you should be. Everyone is skeptical about anything that disagrees with their established point of view. I hope you apply the same standards across the board.

You keep bringing up the mountain situation like it has something to do with this story.

My established point of view is ISIS are a murderous mafiosi who are barbaric beyond anything we've ever seen in Jihadists. So really that kind of news would confirm my world view. The point is, just because it seems true, doesn't make it true. The media is beating the war drums and putting any old bullshyt on the front page the same way they did during the build up to the war in 2003.

Remember Yellow Cake? Aluminum Tubes? Nigeria? Chemical weapons sites? All nonsense. That doesn't mean Saddam was a good guy, but I still reserve the right to be skeptical about the specifics which are key.
