The answer is somewhere in the middle. Saudis are definitely not the joke army Napoleon thinks they are. But I don't think they're REALLY about that action against the big dogs in the region...e.g Iran, Israel.
They spend roughly the same amount on defence the UK do. Granted the UK get more bang for their buck....but money talks and the Saudis are still not as as Napoleon thinks. To compare them to Iraq's corrupt, sectarian and emaciated ''army'' is CRAZY.

There's a reason why ISIS tried to go into Lebanon even though the Iraqi army abandoned the Saudi-Iraqi border. They don't want that.
They are strategic and choose countries with sectarian issues which they can exploit...e.g Syria, Iraq, Lebanon. Their only hope in Saudi is to try and inspire local people.

Having said that, I still think the Iranians would give Saudis the business.

Only thing stopping them from overrunning saudi arabia is US airstrikes would go from 10 a day to 250 a day and there would be a huge ground force to go with it. Its inviting the full force of the US military. If isis went after saudi arabia gass would hit $7 a gallon and obama would have no choice but to unleash completely on isis.
