So power will not be a benefit in this ongoing back and forth real life checkers these guys are playing out there? You guys in this forum have shown that you lack the understanding of what true negotiation and how the threat of escalation can do to people. No, you go out there and you put foots on necks to show you mean business. The fact that it took the United States so long to get to the figurehead of Al-Qaeda is ridiculous in every sense of the word. You meaning to tell me that it took longer to resolve this conflict than it did to get rid of Adolf Hitler? Think about how silly that is. Beheadings and all sorts of other nonsense out there? Response has been with fake outrage, I believe they don't really intend on resolving a damn thing.

nikka, what threat of escalation exactly are you on about?

1. The american people DO NOT want boots on the ground. They're tired of their kids coming back home in boxes from a war that lasted a decade. Bodies going back to occupy Iraq ain't happening. Air support only.

2. ISIS trump card is surrounding themselves with innocent people, as there is no way the US goes ham while risking civilian lives unless there is an imminent thread to the homeland. What current threat does ISIS pose to the US to warrant such action?

3. Brute forcing ISIS is like fighting cancer. Chemo and radiation also destroys white blood cells along with the cancer cells. This is what you're suggesting the US does; wipe out ISIS while wiping out civilians. This is not plausible.

4. Even if we were to put boots on the ground, when those bodies leave it creates a power vacuum that will quickly be filled by the next extremist group which could potentially be even worse than ISIS. As I said earlier, the american people aren't trying to hear boots on the ground, so cross that off the list.

5. Your method will only breed more extremists with even deeper rooted hatred for the west. You still have yet to come up with a solution for that. You assume these people don't understand the might of the US military when they got to experience it first hand a decade ago. It's not something extremists care about. You can only use death and destruction as a scare tactic if your enemy is scared of dying. You also underestimate the power of the human mind and what it will sacrifice for its beliefs.

Comparing ISIS to Hitler is just :snoop:

Also, if the war machine goes in, it becomes, "who appointed you mofos as world police?". If the war machine sits around and twiddles its thumbs it becomes, "why aren't you guys doing anything, they're killing children!!!"
