Show lost something special when Darabont left. Writing was tighter, characters were developed better, and the atmosphere was creepier. I think S3 was when I stopped watching religiously.

Oh well, at least Epix’s ‘From’ is restoring some of the vibes.

Early TWD was a good ass time, we even had Mad Men and Breaking Bad still airing then. Now AMC is in an identity crisis and won’t pull their beloved franchise off life support to save their lives. :huhldup:

There is no legit reason why ER shouldn't still be on the air.
If Grey's Anatomy is going just got renewed for its 19th season why can't TWD keep pumping out shows.

It's still on because the studio is creatively bankrupt. They needed to fill time with a Breaking Bad prequel. The other networks have had hits while AMC can't even get shyt to stick on a wall.

Law and Order and ER got cancelled because even most of the most dedicated fanbase wasn't watching those shows.

Grey's Anatomy is unique in that it's somehow still getting sufficient enough viewership for ABC to keep it going. I honestly think a solid part of it is that most of the newer shows that would be its competition aren't going to network TV anymore, and are instead going to streaming. Those shows will usually have their week or two in the sun, while Grey's Anatomy is somewhere in the middle of their twenty something episodes for the season.

But in the case of the Walking Dead, it really doesn't seem like there's enough untold story there to warrant all the spinoffs they're going to make. All of this shyt would've been a much better idea to pursue several years ago, when the show was at its height.
