I have known this for several years, and I couldn't care less. He knows what team has the brighter future and the Pacers will match any offer another team threw at him anyway, I have 0 worries about him not being a Pacer long term

Now will any of this info help get the Hawks out of the first round? Or are the Lakers just the next team you have choosen to dikkride since the Hawk's ain't and will never be shyt

They've already said they won't pay the tax, so they, like most other teams, have to get creative with the deals they put out there.

Long story short, GM's have to give a damn about the 2nd round.

Cheap production. Wherever you can find it, get it and keep it.

Why doesn't the nba get a reasonable hard cap? Like say $80M or so?

The Bulls barely pay tax money and won't repeat doing it.

simple. Hard cap + guaranteed salaries = chaos. If you want a hard cap, don't guarantee salaries. The owners would jump at that. The players obviously wouldn't.

Owners don't want it because it kills flexibility, and if you're a team now, the floor you have to reach is $52.65 mil for your payroll. If you have to spend 90% of 80 mil, that's $72, Basically you'd be asking a team like the Bobcats to spend $20 mil when they can barely spend the money they have effectively (and if it doesn't pan out, you're stuck).

Players would hate it because it kills flexibility, so if you're already over $80 mil, how do you get down? If you're capped out, not even a rookie draft pick can help because you can't afford one. You'd have to change so much in the CBA that ultimately fukks everyone over.
