Immediately following the American attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, a four-way phone call took place between US President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer. "Israel Hayom" learned from a source briefed on the contents of the call that all four were extremely enthusiastic about the results of the B-2 bomber operation and were, in his words, in a state of "euphoria."
However, it wasn't only the operational aspects that brought enormous satisfaction to the four, but also the steps they are planning for the future. The intention of President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu is to quickly break through to new peace agreements with Arab states, as part of expanding the Abraham Accords.
In general terms, they agreed on the following principles:
- The war in Gaza will end within two weeks. The terms of the ending will include the entry of four Arab states (including Egypt and the UAE) that will govern the Gaza Strip in place of the murderous terrorist organization Hamas. What remains of Hamas leadership will be exiled to other countries, and of course the hostages will be released.
- Several countries around the world will absorb many Gaza residents who wish to emigrate from there.
- The Abraham Accords will be expanded: Syria, Saudi Arabia and other Arab and Muslim states will recognize Israel and establish official relations with it.
- Israel will express willingness for a future solution to the conflict with the Palestinians under the idea of "two states," conditional on reforms in the Palestinian Authority.
- The US will recognize the application of certain Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.
This ambitious vision was discussed, as mentioned, in the call between the four on Monday night into Tuesday. Their intention is to implement it quickly, with the first step being the end of the war in Gaza.
Meanwhile, two political sources told "Israel Hayom" that there is heavy pressure from the American president on Prime Minister Netanyahu to close the campaign in the Strip. This pressure began even before Operation "With Kalbia" and resumed immediately after its conclusion. However, another source said no such pressure is known.
"Israel Hayom" also learned that the concern that the ambitious plan would collapse was one of the reasons for President Trump's enormous anger at the Israeli strikes, after his announcement of a ceasefire with Iran. In the call where he demanded that Prime Minister Netanyahu "stop the planes," Trump told him that he didn't understand how, after they had already agreed on the strategic framework for peace, Netanyahu was disrupting it because of a "small tactical incident of an Iranian missile."
It appears that the intention of the two leaders to implement the ambitious plan was what stood behind President Trump's unusual post regarding the Prime Minister's trial. Trump, who has also spoken with Netanyahu in the past about his trial, wants to free him for full engagement with the peace vision. Therefore, Netanyahu's testimony in court next week has been postponed.
