I don't doubt the sentiments of Hamas but what do you think drove the Palestinians from aligning with Hamas in the first place? Have the Israelis honestly stopped their expansion of illegal settlements? Have they even entertained the thought of discussing the borders pre-1967? The Israeli sentiments you're describing is perfectly natural and I totally understand why they'd feel that way. However, human relationships are complex whether between individuals or groups and when you add several generations on that the complexities only increase. The reaction you're describing is fed off a reaction from another group. One is being attacked for being a colonizer while the other attacks because they've been colonized. To me, it's just a fukked up situation all around and you're right I think Israel is bent on annihilating Hamas even if it means the whole Gaza strip goes with them. shyt's fukked up.

Well i think first we need to be clear. First of all, through war, the true owners of the land will never be known. Turkish people aren't even from turkey, let alone palestine, so their entire reign over the area was not legit, and was possible through conquering, the same with arabs, and the same with pretty much every other group that has had a claim to the land, for the longest time it was basically whoever could hold it...held it. Now, when the turks left, they DID sell land to jewish people, who then expanded and expanded and expanded. Some arabs sold land etc. etc. this doesn't need to be explained as you can read about it. Now they didn't sell all the land israel has right now, lots of that was taken during wars, in which the Arabs lost and therefore forfeited the land. The settlements are a problem, there is corporations ran out of some of them, which is bizarre when you think about it.
And they aren't doing pre 1967 borders....at least i highly doubt it, that is conquered land, and judging from the past of the area, forget arabs and jews, but just the general history there, it's not leaving israels hand unless somebody chops it off.

Yeah they sold lands, but Jewish terrorist groups also attacked and evicted Palestinians. Plus I think asking who owned what is irrelevant in the face of the favoritism the British showed the Zionists with regards to Palestine because it was obviously going to create the situation going on now. Duly noted, the Arabs didn't have the political unity of the Zionists and were made losers for it. However, the situation of who holds the land makes me think it would've been all the more responsible to of made a neutral state out of Palestine for both Jews and Arabs in the first place.
