Such a shame. I was rooting for her before I found out about her plans for that show.

They are making her take the spotlight off of being black and dealing with racism as she showed with her rooting for everybody black comment to now putting the spotlight on being gay and will most likely make the bad guys black men.

Making the offenders from racist whites to us in the stories as they usually do and Issa just went along with it smh.

Who were the bad guys on the show previously? Everyone on her show aptly titled "Insecure" is flawed in some way. That's what makes the characters human, relatable and interesting. Trust I understand how important representation and corrective promotion are, as a dark skin black woman. I just am reserving judgement until I watch the new season.

Also, queer black men still deal with racism. You can still be mad at white people on her new show lol. I think for an adult show having clear flat "bad guys" makes for an uninteresting plotline, especially for a slice-of-life show.

My comments are only about her new show. I have no issue with insecure.

What your talking about rarely happens on shows dealing with bi black men. Look at moonlight and even Empire where the bad guy in that topic is black.

I think she's being used...if this was the type of show she wanted to make, she'd have done it with Awkward black girl, which was never anti-black male.

nah they're using her to push an agenda man, but she ain't going back to youtube and give up her fame and wealth for us "cis-hetero black men"

In Awkward Black girl she had a relationship with the white guy which had questionable moments :yeshrug:

I started rooting for her on Insecure when it looked like she was going down the right path.
