Don’t ignore the venom comments, your included when it comes to gay or bi men and then say who tv portrays as the bad guys for those men. Your doing the job proving their point.

I’ve yet to here are a legit argument to discredit Issa. Dudes heard toxic masculinity and freaked out. Liked the ladies of her current show aren’t portrayed way worse not any of the men on it. Issa and Molly are entertaining but HORRIBLE self destructive women.

Show about a bi dude. We don’t know what this man social circle, poor or wealthy, we don’t anything about the show yet.

What representation are some of y’all looking for? I’m not in hood themes but y’all have the Chi, Atlanta, Claws ( doctor)

Comics clock & dagger ( clock as a Strong blk str8 family), black lighting, the flash( half the cast is black), agents of shield,

Middle class to wealth. This is US, black lighting again, blackish, grownish, Claws again

Etc..... all of these shows or characters are str8 & well written..

What are you guys asking for?
The typical pattern when having a story about a bi black man is that the straight black men is the enemy toward him. It has happened in most media that involves a gay or bi black man.

If the sun comes up everyday then you naturally expect it to come up the next day since the pattern before have been constant.

Therefore to ignore the high probability that a black man will be a bad guy based on previous trends would be stupid.

You just discredited her while also inadvertently making the argument that more black women should be speaking out against her.

I've made this exact point several times btw. In the large season thread for insecure in the movie/tv section, I've posted about how none of the women characters on the show are likeable including Issa herself and how the show low key is a bad look for black women.

No I didn’t. This show isn’t the spokesperson for black women, it just a show.

This is the golden age of black Cinema. It surpasses the 90s because for the first time with can have so many different voices & stories can be told with a great to decent budget instead of 86% hood tells and jokes.

Ya probably will be, for many gay black and bi men. That is their reality. Again YOUR comment earlier in this thread included. They would be stupid NOT to have it in there. We don’t know if it a theme of the season or it just a focus on an episode. So why get mad about what you don’t know.

Issa and her team track record is to good to be so pessimistic.
Plus I doubt the first show about a bi man is going to devote a whole season to the ill of homophobic men.

It most likely will be a normal dude like Molly ex dealing with two worlds of dating who don’t understand or trust him.

when it comes to the demoghrapic that i am referring to,not enough..you make a good point though and i am not that opinionated that i turn a blind eye to your argument, some of these shows have a good enough grasp on some of the issues that i want to see in mainstream shows.I do believe that a show where the main character is relatable to a section of black men that are usually dissected into digestable stereotypes has not been made yet.

what straight male show are you looking for?

More soul food less wire/ the chi?

More serious blackish who rich.

Unless I’m wrong, you don’t seem to enjoy the chi/ wire / or any hood tale that deals with our poor population.

Because the pattern shows that black men will be the enemy. To notice the pattern and expect it to continue is called using your brain.

The possibility you bring up is slim based on the previous media focus on bi black men.

I’m not sure if your aware of this but

WE ARE IN A WHITE SOCIETY

Therefore this can be used via white meddling to deflect from racial issues like racist white people have been doing for awhile now.

Calling out racist white people is now a national pastime right alone with killing criminal & innocent black people.

And why should they shy away from the one of the very reason so many black gay and bi men have self esteem & identity issues. Long before white supremacy can touch them, certain black homophobic communities & families do the white man job to these young men. They shouldn’t have any loyalty to these people. They showed who they are. I’m just confused what loyalty you think it’s owned. Cause even in 2018 more gay/bi men stay in the closet and marry women to keep making their family is happy.

Not saying at all this show will touch on any of this.

I just find it hypocritical. You talk about the media showing black straight men as the enemy but on empire. Jamal straight brothers are always their for him & Jamal just like his conflicted daddy.

Etc with other shows. They always straight black men to stand with the gay characters to counterbalance the so call evil stereotype as you put it.

Black men are chosen in tv/film WAYYYYY more than black men. I just don’t see this blatant agenda long term.

That’s just one instance. MOST media with gay black men keep straight black men as the enemy.

What you are saying chances are slim based on previous patterns where the straight black man stays the enemy.

Your hope ain’t shyt when it comes to reality.

Some straight men are the gay men enemy before and after white people get in the picture. As a man being respected and rewarded for your achievements is everything. No difference with a gay/bi/straight men when it come to pride and respect. A lot of black straight don’t give that. It is what it is on both sides.
The wire before the coming out & oz had plenty of gay bashing, wasn’t a problem then.

My point is Issa and her team are doing a great job of showing all points of view, even when we don’t agree. Give the show a few episodes to change your mind, hell wait for a trailer

Im really disgusted with Issa over that Asian men shyt. I simply cannot support her anymore. I LOVED Insecure and cant even read about season 3 now without becoming agitated. I cancelled her like I cancelled R Kelly..

Insecure was actually tolerable because of the Lawrence Story line but at this point the show is bush status. Luckily Power and Snowfall coming back.
