I think Android Authority is running a vpn deal that is only $19 (total) for three years.
If you're looking for something inexpensive, I would say give it a shot.

I just started using CroxyProxy chrome extension. It hides my IP, doesn't slow down my speed, and it's free. CroxyProxy is good value so far, I hated my old vpn because it slowed down my speed and I paid $60 for the one year plan. 
Thing is, CroxyProxy is new and still in beta. They are going to start charging soon, I would think.
