streaming jumped the shark when we had to get a service to watch a show then get another one to watch another show. Tv ain’t that good these days lol. Cable will come back.. they need to drop them prices though
Cable is finished...100 inch Google TV with HDO is all you need to watch shows and movies

From a business standpoint yeah it's stupid. You should string the customer along forever. Me personally I watch stuff at my own pace so I wait till the show airs usually then watch. I prefer the binge model.
