I was honestly saving this thread idea for the future to have as much evidence as possible to post in it, but fukk it I need to post this now 
There is a bookmark feature for threads. There is a "receive thread alerts" option for threads.You don't need to post "in" to be connected to it. Saying "in" here is no different than saying "first" on youtube/social media except one is more recognized as mindless. Almost every overly large thread since people started ODing on this trend mid-last year has had the first couple of pages as "in" posts to the point where the thread is devoid of content until like the 6th page where the "in" posts start to slow down and everyone starts to actually communicate. I can't even think of another forum where "in" even pops up past the first page
Now people are "in"ing their own threads
Can we all please relax on this trend like straightened hair?
