The city is sinking, sea level is rising, the coastlines are eroding. Yet these cacs in office sit on their hands and watch the city get bodied it seems like every year during hurricane season. I understand Louisiana is "poor" and can't offer much help in flood relief for the city, but damn, N.O should be the first place in line for special funding from the federal government to combat all the flooding. They're deadass gonna wait until like 2035 when the water is at the city's footstep by then.

This picture really put things into perspective for me and made me sad.

N.O was once the 3rd biggest city in terms of population behind NYC and Baltimore, now it's not even in the top 100 anymore I think. It's criminal to me, N.O is one of my favorite American cities and I haven't even been there yet. George Bush America hates Black people.

Ehh as a local I don’t think it’s much more they can do outside of what they did. They spend 15 bill on levees for the city and surrounding areas and they worked. The city hasn’t flooded out since Katrina, even tho we see flooding cause our sewage and water board is terrible.

Climate change is happening and it’s nothing really gonna stop it

So what do you do? Throw your hands up and let nature eventually take it's course? Or do you relocate the city? Your outlook is hella grim. NYC, Jersey, Florida are losing their coasts too, but you can bet your ass they (gov) will throw any and every resource at the issue before it gets as bad as it is in N.O.

St John The Baptist resident here which is right below to the left of Lake Pontchartrain and it’s a damn shame they still haven’t had engineers build up the levee there because anytime it constantly rains nikkas can expect flash floods and if a hurricane comes through it’s a wrap. That’s why I’m getting the hell outta Louisiana and moving back home to Jersey. I’m in a hotel in Mississippi which is backwards af waiting for my paper then I’m out before the end of the year. I built my crib after Issac told myself I wasn’t gonna do it again. With that said yes breh it’s foul af that cacs just take the money and leave the people high and wet but what can you do that’s just how it is down here even black officials do the same shyt:francis:

Bruh, my city is cursed. Same routes of hurricanes, started on burial grounds. There's powerful magic/spirits/ whatever you wanna believe in there.
I mean it was built on lies and criminals. They said it was the land of milk and honey but when people got there it was nothing but swamps. Then they decided to use it to send criminals to. Not to mention the symbol of the city (the fleur de lis) was what they branded slaves with so if they got away or stolen, people knew where they came from. I love my city but it probably is cursed.

Y'all don't think y'all need aid(money to fix your houses/money to get a place to stay, food, generators, etc)?

Plus the land is so saturated with water and extra moisture floods the city. They could do more. The problem is they only fix shyt when it's breaks. There's no prevention only patches.... Oh and our local government is corrupt as fukk and has been since the origin of the city.

At least people here aren't racist like the rest of the south
