Dawg, you pointed out that Brady had a 10-year Super Bowl drought. That was 2005 thru 2014.
I'm a major voice who reminds people that Manning was always better than Brady until '07 when it even became a real conversation (based on their play at quarterback, not based on wins; the Brady/Manning thing was a convo prior to '07 but it was mostly based on Brady being "a winner").
Since you mentioned the drought, I responded that during that drought, he became arguably the best player in football. That doesn't mean specifically 2005 or 2006, it means the window you defined as The Drought.
Brady's play was trending UP.
Mahomes, since 2023, his play at the quarterback position, is trending DOWN. He's still a Top 10 guy at his position, but no one can argue that he's the guy that he was 2018-22. It's a pattern at this point, bruh. Whether it's due to age or attrition because of his play style, his play is markedly lower than the bar he set when he walked in the door.
So my point is that is eerily similar to Favre. I don't even see what the contention with this statement is. He could come back next year and revert to peak form (even Favre had another 2 seasons he was a top MVP candidate post-00), but the pattern is the pattern.
