I feel for the folks who can't afford to leave. Climate justice should be on black folks agenda. If non-black folks are fleeing an area and the tradeoff is bad infrastructure and weather occurrences to stay there, don't do it. There will be migration within the country in the coming decades and the last thing you want is to think you got a lick on rebuilding somewhere and that first flood comes through and flattens your city.

I'm a little embarrassed, :francis: but wouldn't the ship be way above them if they're below sea level?
Or is she standing a Point A on the map and the ship is at Point B? So the danger is from the water behind her?

Pardon my ignorance.

First time I went to New Orleans a few years after Katrina it rained and I kid you not within two hours where I was at the water was above my knees. A car got stuck and we just had to walk in the middle of the street to help it out. Literally on my first day!!
Having lived in both New Orleans and Houston, that same shyt will happen after 20 minutes of rain in some Houston spots. :francis:

Nothing worse than driving down south and a random crazy thunderstorm appears out of nowhere

Can't even tell if you're still on the road or not cuz the flooding is so bad :beli: fukk around and end up driving off-road and into a real body of water, I've had to pull over at gas stations and just wait out the rain at the pump

Move up north now you gotra deal with wild blizzards and windstorms depending on where you at

Midwest? Random tornado might toss your house down the block

West coast? Always on the verge of a big earthquake/tsunami combo otf the flash fires don't get you up outta there first
