It should be illegal how high rent is. My mom said she remembers her 1 bedroom apt being $600

TYRONE GA!
True, but every month (if you're doing it right) you're building up equity as opposed to just giving your money away to the landlord. Paying off a mortgage does not have to take 30 years, not even close if you're financially intelligent.

Ultimately, people have to do what's best for them though, in many instances an apartment is the better option. With that being said, I rather own a home, and I won't be a senior citizen when the bank says it's mine.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Then you need to stay in your lane instead of trying to make unintelligent arguments in an attempt to downplay the advantages homeowners have over renters.

It’s not unintelligent at all. The ideology that renting is DUMB is something a true unintelligent person would say. It’s like the finance vs lease debate.

renting and homeownership exist for various reasons and there are pros and cons for each depending on your lifestyle

Th

This basically my issue here in new Orleans. They want to charge rent like it's damn New York(it's not that high but high enough) but don't have the pay to balance the shyt.

The property owners are out of touch with the employment sector. As long as they can get someone to rent the space they don’t really care about the average salary in New Orleans or the country for that matter

When I moved to ATL in February, the rent for my apt was 1500. I randomly looked on the website the other day, and the rent is 2k now. Although I like my complex, literally NOTHING has changed for there too be a $500 increase in 7 months:gucci:

Glad I’ll be out of there in a few weeks.

You should speak to @hatealot he said he got an apartment in the A for less then $900.

And I remember my mom’s mortgage being $730 for a 5 bed/3bath on a 1/4 acre in Rex, GA 5 years ago…stop trying to move to major cities and not knowing how to locate prime areas that are on the come up which haven’t been gentrified yet
Imma be honest with you tho, I fukking hate driving and having to drive everywhere for anything. If this country was like Europe where you could get around without a car that would be great but people like me basically are forced to be in metro areas. Like I'd live in a place like rex if I could but I'd have to depend on my car even more and naw, fukk that.

I agree with you and I never understood why people boast about it

Yeah you’re right because even though you generally don’t have to leave Rex for anything (expect for work, maybe), you still have to have a car living out there.

Southeast DC
Rent in the South basically matching the North but the pay hasn't caught up:francis:

I got slapped in the face with this when I went to Atlanta. I opened up that Realtor app and hit the :damn: with them housing prices. And you exactly right, Atlanta done caught up with DC area home prices and not only lower pay but less convenience as well. Might as well choose Prince Georges or Montgomery County at this point.
