Problem with the album was more on Common's side.....his fall off was starting on here. A lot of corny lyrics and the hunger was gone.

Album was solid....Dilla, Devo Springsteen and Will.i.Am also did nice work on there. Probably one of the last real beat maker albums from Ye too.

I loved that album, as someone who barely listens to Common, it was probably a lot of just where I was in life, in 2007, needed that kind of inspirational music. but I played that all summer.

The People
the one with Kanye
The Game

all fire. and it was a great summer for Kanye fans. The music had a very uplifting feeling. I was like 22 trying to get my life together.

this is the last Common album I heard

Some of the beats were nice but overall the album just felt sorta flat


I remember hearing that So Far Go (Dilla) track some time before the Common album because it had leaked out

crazy to think that this was pre Obama, and during the W. Bush years. and how the game changed/world changed over the next 10 years. but, a lot of the music was so positive and uplifting in the 2007/2008 years. Even Kanye himself.

listen to the rap now and it's a startling difference. This was pretty mainstream in 2007. Kanye was the star of the year. And less then a year later he went into autotune, and sounded out of control depressed on Put On and then just got weirder since, even though I liked a lot of that shyt too.

Without the rah rah and bullshyt, there is no way Common doesn't have a top 10 discography in rap history

Even more so if you count the amount of releases and longevity

And if he's gonna bless us with the Pete Rock joint as well, I'm not sure how anybody argument against that could even be made...

Finding forever is like a quality spinoff from Be, undeniable

as an album, its a fine follow up to Be but theres something about Common on the album that is just harmlessly annoying
his voice/delivery became jarring

that Southside beat is one of those corny Kanye beats that only he, Common or Talib would rap over
Jay, Cam, Beans and them would've passed on that in an instant. Freeway could've done something with it though

Start The Show would've been perfect for The Clipse
