In her mind, the only way she can see her father is this way. You would think a normal person wouldn’t do that to the kids and stay in Derry all these years with a husband she hates just to see a monster who took her dad’s shape. Obviously she told where dude was hiding to force the kids down in the tunnels to clear his name.

The fact Lily distanced herself from the crew is basically setting up her fall. She’s either getting eaten at Juniper Hill or lobotomized.

They are condensing the story because in the books the Black soldiers build it because they have no where to go and the whites build their own. The whites is nicer and serves alcohol but the Black joint is more popular and all the white folks in town end up going there. That’s where the conflict from the next episode comes from. There wasn’t any framing for murder of the movie dude like in the show. Just pure racism.
