I liked this episode. I'm still locked in with where they're going. The flashbacks were dope with how they were shot & adding to the lore. The Black spot was givin' some Sinners vibes for ain. Shame it couldn't last longer . Previews for next ep seem like it's gon have some heat

Alright I have a few questions, spoilers for The Shinning and Doctor Sleep books and movies.

I know in the book dikk Hallorann doesn't die on the Shinning, so how does he die?

In the movies the Overlook Hotel feeds on people that shine/have steam or whatever. If this is so how does dikk Hallorann work there for many years and not have the evil try to take him over?

I'm asking these questions because he's my favorite character on this show so far. I don't know where they'll go with his character if anywhere. To me it seems dumb for him to go through all this, and the Overlook Hotel to get axed by a screaming drunk. I guess when it's your time to go it's your time to go

In the book Doctor Sleep, Hallorann

dies of old age at some point.

As far as him working at the Overlook, in the movie Dan asks him the same question ("you said it couldn't hurt me"), and I think dikk told him that the Overlook was more dangerous to Danny because his shine was stronger.
