Chris Jericho is the only one I saw as being a future champion cause of his look, mic skills and was already over with the fans when he left WCW. You could see he was starting to grow as a wrestler. The rest had zero charisma.
It’s 1999, who would you have the hardest time believing would ever be WWE champ one day?

Bradshaw. At the end of 1999, the rest of the list at least did one thing notable that was over in at least a midcard level where you could probably imagine them as a World Champ in a few years if they got a push. Bradshaw started teaming with Faarooq, but they were just starting the APA gimmick which would lead to the first thing Bradshaw did to get over. You just knew him as a cowboy, a fake Blackjack, trying to teach Taka Michinoku to be American, and a silent Undertaker goon until then.

Rey should have never been WWE Champion, I’m sorry
He should have, but not at the time and not in the shape he won it in. There were multiple year stretches multiple times where Rey winning the title and getting a short reign would have been absolutely fitting, so the time being in the after math of Eddie's death while he was just a bloated puffy blob of steroids and lost much of what made Rey...Rey was just not it.

That was his WHC run. He became WWE Champion for a few minutes in the summer of 2011 before losing the title to Cena.
Btw Chris Benoit is listed in this thread but he never was WWE Champion either so i guess we're just talking about world championships.
Bradshaw without a doubt. All the others on the list had already shown signs of star power whether it was charisma, ringwork or both. Bradshaw hadn’t shined at all.

Dude was getting lawn darted and was a (literal) filthy animal around that time.....and like Eddie and Bradshaw....he only became champ due to being the right guy at the right time in the right place

Benoit was making his way up the WCW main event ladder anyway even before he dipped for wwe
Bradshaw is an acceptable pick...but he was a big man with an even bigger backstage presence and that can be levied into a wwe title run but i only saw IC title level guy.
Eddie was a junkie in 99 wasnt he? fired and injured.....wouldn't have guessed it
But like Bradshaw....he was kinda a right guy at the right time win.
