Would met up with my brother and add my $5 to the $5 his mom gave him. We’d rent two video games, a movie or two, buy some cokes and get a teenager to buy us a black-n-mild

Then we’d walk home from the store, with our bird chests out, passing the black back and forth like we running shyt. Then we’d realize we actually need food, and I’d go tell my pops I need $5 to get something to eat…

Then we would run and get some frozen pizza to get back in time to play video games, uninterrupted, while my dad argues with my mom about why she didn’t give me $5 for food because I didn’t mention that she already gave me $5.

In 97 I was 22

$5 was going on a pack of Newports, a couple 40s and a loose Philly Titan

Yah inflation sucks. 5 bucks in 97 is almost 12 bucks in 25.

I remember KFC used to have a $5 sunday buffet in the neighborhood I grew up in. It was a monthly tradition. They Held my family down on Sundays with unlimited coleslaw, chicken, biscuits, and those discontinued KFC wedges:ohlawd:

We had Toonie Tuesdays (our two dollar coin in Canada) at KFC here back in the late 90s/early 2000s where you got two pieces of chicken and a side of fries for 2 dollars :wow: they also had those “classic” chicken sandwiches that were 2 dollars and change on Tuesday so for 4 bucks you’d be feasting

That shyt used to literally feed the hood every Tuesday lineups out the door @MikelArteta was probably outside for this too

Now it’s the “Tuesday special” and it’s the same 2 piece and fries but 5 bucks and change :francis:

They need to bring back that Sobe Fruit Punch for real man. We had it at our dining hall in college I probably drank one every day for like 2 years straight lol.

Bama. Checkers/Rallys and Dairy Queen both had them for a 1.00. shyt I remember when Popeyes had 2 pieces for 2 dollars, 10 dollars would get you straight for a couple of days.

Hell yeah

You notice now a days all these spots are stingy as fukk wit deals? They throw em in a few times a year but not deals that stick around or really worth it

I find myself eating alot of gyros, wraps, chicken plates, shyt like that cause it’s 10-15 bucks and you actually feel full
