All of those rings and he can't even get a job in the league as a HC. nikka got the Pacers in the ECF with his defensive schemes.
Can't knock every Triangle disciple because 1 of them failed. All he's done is win. Dude helped turn Paul George into an allstar. The Pacers don't have any stars yet they're about to be in the NBA finals in 2 weeks, simply amazing. He only has one person to blame.
Kurt Rambis.

It makes zero sense to me when I hear why he said GM's won't hire him. He said every interview he goes in they talk about the triangle like a plague. All it's done is get MJ 6 rings and Kobe 5. Just because a descendant of the triangle failed in a small market with little to no talent doesn't mean they should frown on the system that's won the most rings in the last 20 years. That's just it. He's a triangle disciple, so that scares everybody because everyone thinks he'll just do what got him rings: run some form of the triangle like Kurt did. Remember, when the Lakers won, Kurt was hailed as a defensive smart guy too, and then he got a HC gig and proceeded to refuse to defend the 3 and call timeouts like Phil did. So while I hate using the word "blackball" like many of y'all do, he's getting fukked over based on what his coaching peer did on some guilt by association shyt. It's not right as he SHOULD have a job, but that's the case.
His time will definitely come though. Thibs waited forever and a day and he turned out to be worth it. That may be the case with Shaw too.

That's because it is. There's a reason why it's ONLY gotten MJ and Kobe rings. You need to have the personnel to run it effectively. There's a reason why teams will run pick and roll all day and don't just say "hey let's run some triangle." There are coaching assistants that get jobs everywhere, but not Phil's guys.
The NBA is a copycat league. Notice how nobody attempts to copy it. It's because it's extremely tough to duplicate if you don't have an all-time SG on your roster. It's a complicated offense to grasp, one not built for a team with young players.
I can only count 2 teams in the last 22 years that won a championship without an all-time SG on their roster. A team like Brooklyn seems ideal for the triangle yet they still hired P.J instead of stealing Shaw. They better right that wrong asap. Somebody needs to give the man a chance.
