It's a damn shame Brian Shaw can't get a Head Coaching gig

They didn't hire P.J. He was already there. They had Avery Johnson and now they're looking for someone else.

Now, Brooklyn you would think is ideal for the Triangle, but it actually fukks over D-Will. A traditional PG in the Triangle is meaningless.

The funny thing is that a team like yours actually fits most of what the triangle offense desires. It's based on reads, offensive awareness, and an ability to pass by everyone.

The closest thing to the triangle is the motion offense. A couple of HC's run that. If Shaw wants a HC job, he needs to hammer home that. Guys like Adelman, Carlisle, Hollins, etc. run an offense like that.
I know they already had P.J but they could've did what the Lakers did when they canned Brown. They could've hired Shaw after P.J coached 3 or 4 games as the interim HC. We would be ideal for the triangle but Monta was the SG when Jackson was hired and Monta could never understand the triangle. As far as D-Will being a traditional pg goes it shouldn't matter to him, he's seen everything except a conference finals anyway. He's already gotten his max deal so he should be willing to do whatever it takes to win.

Shaw was employed already. No way was that gonna happen bruh. Shaw wasn't even taking interview requests for current vacancies because he's still with Indiana.

Assistant coaches can get permission to interview for jobs during the season. Stephen Silas left the dubs during the season to go coach with his dad in Charlotte.

All of those rings and he can't even get a job in the league as a HC. nikka got the Pacers in the ECF with his defensive schemes.

All those rings? :dafuk:

Dude was a scrub on those title teams, who gives a fukk about his rings. Patrick Ewing a legit legend who been an assistant coach for years and can't a head job, that's a crime

Which is NOT the same as leaving a team midseason to take a HC job somewhere else.

Shaw's name has popped up around other teams as well -- notably the Nets -- but the Pacers are holding off on granting Shaw the opportunity to interview until the team's season is over. And with the way they're playing right now, up 3-1 over the Knicks, it might not be anytime soon.

He's going to Detroit

what'd you think the Phil Jackson situation was about? :jawalrus:

Id be lying if I said I knew what he contributes to the Pacers scheme wise, but if everyone is rallying for dude the past 2 years, it must be for a reason.
