My Pops Forever RIP
They have 3 first round picks this summer, they don't need to trade either one just yet unless they can get Jimmy Butler / PG13 back for one of them. Their forwards are pretty bad, that is the real underlying issue with them -

Turner, Harkless, Aminu, Vonleh and Leonard is a horrific forward rotation.
:laff:

Their ceiling is capped. Let's call a spade a spade. They better hope they hit a HR this draft and land some forwards that can play

Having a Batum back this series would've been a game changer. Let him worry about facilitating would at least limit the mental blocks that seem to come when Lillard tries to get others involve + get buckets. It seems like he tries to do both elite at once and fails at both. Batum could've filled that role instead of Evan Turner filling in no role at all
Good point. Other than CJ, Lillard doesn't trust his teammates.

I didn't mind the Batum trade at the time since I figured Vonleh had good potential. In hindsight, I'd take Batum of course and it could be him getting others involved.

i feel if you swap Mike Conley and Damian Lillard, they both might do better for their respective teams. Portland has that offensive juggernaut in CJ Mcollum, so having a more "pure point guard" in Conley who is a great defender may be more beneficial. meanwhile Memphis is offensively inept, so maybe an offensive dyanmo like Lillard paired with Gasol and Randolph and an amazing defender in Tony Allen would be a perfect fit :manny:

The problem with portland isn't scoring. It's that neither lillard or mcollum play good defense. So by sacrificing a little scoring for better defense it might help Portland.

@Serious @Skooby does this make sense to ya'll?
Nah, I'll keep Lillard. What we need is a point-foward (like Batum) who can play distributor and a strong PF/C combo that plays good defense. Nurkic is good defensively so he'll do. The Blazers need to upgrade their forward positions.

Only effective defenses I've seen against GS were :

- OKC last year constantly switching with Adams/Ibaka/KD all able to comfortably defend on the perimeter and KD wrecking shyt inside as a help defender
- Cavs going 5 on 4 and daring Harry Barnes to make open shots
That 2nd one isn't going to work anymore :pachaha:

Why don't teams try a 3-2 zone against GS. They got so much ball movement on offense all your man to man defenders get lost. Play the zone extend out to shooters and don't collapse on dribble penetration. Let em take all the contested layups they want. It would at least take them out of there game and make em try something else.

Not only do they hit contested 3s with ease anyway, but KD in particular would average 40+ points on a 3-2 zone

Blazers GM said yesterday the Lillard and McCollum are not getting traded.
guess they like losing to the warriors then. Unless you get some size in the back court, klay and steph gonna rape those midgets for the next 10 years.

Why did they let batum go again?

They wanted to rebuild around Dame and didn't think Batum fit in the long term plans.
