(I didn’t see a thread made….)

BEST POTENTIAL 1ST ROUND MATCHUP - Marquette vs Murray St.

Markus Howard - the Big East Player of the Year - versus Ja Morant, the biggest college star NOT named Zion. Ja and squad have won 11 straight coming in.....Marquette lost 5 of their last six coming in.

Morant is averaging 24.6 points, 10.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 36.5 minutes per game. He’s also shooting 50.3 percent from the field and 33.6 percent from 3-point range.

Howard is averaging 25.0 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 33.6 minutes per game. He’s shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from 3-point range.

POTENTIAL UPSET SPECIALS:
  • 9 UCF over 8 VCU
  • 14 Yale over 3 LSU

NOTES:
  • Duke has a CAKEWALK to the Elite 8. They could win it all simply because they'll have so much momentum, but if some team surprisingly out shoots them from 3, the could be upset....that's their Achilles heel.
  • Not sure Virginia makes the Sweet 16. They SHOULD, based on their matchups, but that team is WILDLY inconsistent. I could see a RED HOT Oregon team giving them problems.
  • Ditto Kansas…they’re in the most difficult region and would have to beat Auburn and then North Carolina.
  • MANY experts have Houston in the Elite Eight….some even have them in the Final Four. Same thing for Texas Tech

FAIRLEIGH dikkINSON AT PRAIRIE VIEW A&M
6:40 PM EDT
UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON ARENA (OH)

Prairie View A&M (22-12), which won the SWAC regular season and tournament titles, is making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1998. Since losing 11 of their first 12 games -- all on the road -- the Panthers are 21-1. Meanwhile, Fairleigh dikkinson (20-13) is making its second appearance in the NCAA Tournament in four years. Tipoff is set for 6:40 p.m. ET from the University of Dayton Arena. The winner will advance to play 1-seed Gonzaga in Salt Lake City. The Knights are favored by two points in the latest Fairleigh dikkinson vs. Prairie View A&M odds, while the over-under for total points scored is 149.

TEMPLE AT BELMONT
9:10 PM EDT
UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON ARENA (OH)

The Bruins have two main scoring threats, writes Marc Narducci: Seniors Dylan Winder (21.4 ppg) and Kevin McLaine (16.3 ppg).

Belmont has the No. 2 scoring offense in the nation with 87.4 points per game, just 1.4 points behind No. 1 seed Gonzaga. They also rank first in assists with 19.9 per game.

The Bruins have been to the NCAA Tournament seven times, but this is the first time in school history they’ve received an at-large bid.

This will be the first time Temple has ever played Belmont. Belmont is a 3.5-point favorite against Temple, but the Owls are 6-3-1 against the spread as an underdog.

Temple has been really good at two things: steals (12 percent of their defensive possessions, 11th nationally) and winning close games, 8-1.
