Agreed 100%. In no way, shape, or form should Israel be involved in an answer to a question regarding making America great again.

Saudi's had too much power over the US while they controlled the oil supply so while the US may not like the political or cultural deprivation in Saudi, we couldn't really say shyt about it without jeopardizing our oil supply. Saudi is just a business partner. Israel is more of a little brother where America can heavily influence Israel in what it wants. Israel would also do whatever needed to be done militarily against Arab countries if the US requested. The Saudi's didn't have that military might or willingness to attack fellow Arabs so Israel became the go-to. Its changed in the past decade though so we'll see how it plays out now that Saudi's are doing their own dirty work.

Also, support for a Muslim state/cause in a Judeo-Christian society is hard to come by.

True the powerful lobbying group is part of it, but I truly believe it goes deeper than that. Because you know there are plenty of countries/organizations/entities that could shower Congress with money. Seems like there is something more...I even heard Bill Maher say it has a lot to do with the Bible and Israels perceived role in future major events.

funny thing is that israel is the only so called ally to have attacked us while being considered an ally (had to add that qualifier in case people want to bring up past wars with present day allies). and the US govt was quick to give them a pass.
