Not only is IT a horrible defender,he jacks up bad shots and isn't nowhere quick as he was last year when trying to create on his own. Why take the ball put of lonzo's hand for a rental that is selfish on offense and should still be rehabbing and is a slow midget defensively?

Its not really the issue

IT on offense (once he get back to his old self) is great.

IT on defense was never great. KCP is the starting SG and despite being a dumbass occasionally, he is at least above average on defense (usually).

Lakers aren't really a great defensive team. They are decent, but there are liabilities all over defensively. Zo is solid (and so is Hart) but they are not lockdown defensive specialists at guard.

Isaiah just creates another liabilty defensively especially if his offense is off

If IT can go back to getting buckets it offsets he defensive liabilities but thats about it. You need a team full of good/solid defenders around him at all times and I don't think we got that (despite us getting rid of at least one defensive liability).

You need big men that can hold the paint down defensively and a team that can kill the glass.

Lakers are decent at it but not great
