I think they’re are just differences in the atmosphere/expectations. There are things one could do in say retail that you can’t do in an office. That’s it. Not really saying one is necessarily better than the other. I mean your hourly wage is probabaly on par if not more than some career folks take home.

That said, I’d always advise my brehs to never shyt where you eat, unless it’s just a “job job” and even then, only certain situations. I think it’s good to have bounderies and the like. When you’re at work, just focus on work.

Retail, warehouse etc., has a more informal environment where people can be a little more direct. Office jobs are very passive aggressive and you have to mince your words carefully.

Was in the office drinking orange juice and a little piece of paper from the straw wrapping was on my lap. Coworker came by and we were talking shop. She saw the paper and reached to pick it off my lap...then was like "oh, wait." Then she told me she's comfortable with me before I brushed it off. Tends to adjust her bra a lot around me.
