Hmm that pretty interesting. If you really think about it, there are not alot of mainstream rappers these days compared to the 90s. Back then there were 100s of rappers selling from all regions.

Nowadays there is only like 20 REAL rappers out there that actually sell their music in stores. Even back then in New York had more rappers than the whole genre right now


The industry is shifting, they understand that they need to find new acts or the genre of is prolly gonna die off in the next decade or so.

A few have dropped but nothing to get excited about. I though 2013 would top 2012 but it looks like it's gonna be a slow ass year. It's cool though I'm starting to get into other genres.

My concern for the year is. With the business model of the game right now. Rappers usually announce their albums 3 to 5 months before its release date. Then go a promo run.

Yet no rappers have really announced shyt besides Wale. Which means, we aint really gettin no albums in the summer time. Maybe some DJ Khaled shyt buts thats prolly it. Im sure Future gon drop in the summer tho.


But besides that. Where are all the release dates?

Album sales are a dead game for everybody but Jay, Ye and Weezy. Tour dates are the new album dates.
