Push doesn't have a solo masterpiece and thats okay.
I'm just happy his solo discography turned out pretty well and consistent because those initial solo mixtapes were fine but kind of shaky

It's Almost Dry is great but as overrated as it has became, that run of one through five on Daytona is flawless

then were hit with a pure dud in What Would Meek Do
just pathetic clout chasing and duck sucking move from a man in his forties

No doubt. Almost Dry and Daytona are both very dope and both 4+ mics to me, but I don't think Push has a true and genuine solo classic.

All of his albums IMO are close to classic, not quite there but he comes awfully close. The thing for me has been his consistency.

Say what you will about the content, but as far as his lane goes he’s the best at it.

I hope the album he made with Madlib sees the light of day because if so, it could potentially top everything we’ve heard from him so far.
Daytona is harmed by being so short imo

This feels like more of a complete project. If the former had like 3 more quality songs on it though…
hard agree with these 2 posts

From The Westside With Love
Actually riding down Brambleton and past Young Terrace to get the vibe of the track makes it hit harder.

But getting the Clipse reunion track was perfectly placed song as an ender.

They're both good albums to me, I prefer how concise Daytona is- I've probably spent songs on IAD more.

I'm not sure Pusha has a masterpiece. Daytona is too short and IAD's production was interesting but a bit too light.
Daytona is about the length of some hardcore albums. I don't have an issue running short albums byke
Hardcore as in legitimate albums? 21 minutes ain't an album.

Yeah, a lot of them have 10 or more songs in under 20 minutes.

"What Would Meek Do?" is an elite classic, but "The Games We Play" isn't? :dahell:

I won’t argue with that. That makes 4.

But then hard piano and Come back baby

ehh-its-alright.gif

And then Infrared, which in hindsight sounds a lil light…it sounds like exactly what it would become: a warning shot/appetizer for a much bigger diss song. It’s no Addidon. It’s no Exodus 23:1

None of these songs are bad, but for a SEVEN song album?!?! Nah. Every single song needs to be monumental to validate a “classic” type ranking and it wasnt that

If the "albums" that were created during the Kanye Wyoming sessions were all at least 10-11 tracks they would have been better received IMO.

For sure. Also imo he fell off a lil bit as a producer as well. From a consistency standpoint. ‘Old Kanye’ 7 songs could be a classic bc he was batting 100.

Like Nasir isn’t bad just because it’s short it’s bad bc the beats suck.
