Well some hiphop heads got into jazz because hiphop sampled it. Just look up hiphop jazz samples and you might change your tune.

That’s understood , there’s several hip hop albums/songs who sampled jazz on tracks.but how many people actually bumping jazz as a regular day to day genre ? I don’t know anyone personally who were unless they were old af

These are a good variety. Based on who you like more, you can find plenty more in that branch.
Ruslan, Dre Murray, Sevin, Sevin Deuce, Bizzle, John Givez before he went secular, Hogg Mob, etc

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
After looking through my playlist, I realized that I don’t have much new rap music from after 2009. There are a few exceptions, like Kendrick Lamar, B.O.B., Watch the Throne, and The Weeknd, but overall, it seems to stop at 2009. I know I’m in the minority, but I've never really connected with most of the music from Drake, Lil Wayne, Cardi B, Future, etc. Their music just never resonated with me. It’s cool though. There’s a helluva lot of music I’ve got between the late 70’s to 2009 that I’m perfectly content with and enjoy.

You had to be told these projects dropped?

Good (and great) rap albums come out every year but coincidentally the "rap is dead" people never hear about them. Funny how that works. I get it, if you don't like Playboi Carti type shyt you aren't going to like a lot of mainstream rap....but there's a shyt ton of noteworthy mainstream shyt every year that's dope. Some of it is readily discussed on the Coli. Or you can follow a handful of good rap accounts on twitter and keep up to date with a lot of stuff.

That "new music is trash' mindset is one of the first ways people become old. Once you're culturally out of date (music, films, tv, etc) you might as well wrap it up. Dunno why people are so proud to be flabby instead of just looking around for shyt they like, be it mainstream or not.
