The lame part is that the music is blasted in the arenas and commercials, but the music's fashion was objectionable
So now, the music is still in the arenas and commercials, but the fashion is acceptable cause of the borderline homosexual/metrosexual swag that is taught to us as being highly chic and fashion forward
+ white people cant possibly be scared of nikkas in skirts :sas2:

Lowkey one of the best things to happen to the NBA. Opened up a world of new opportunities for these cats. Now NBA players are looked at as fashion leaders/trendsetters
This. It was Stern's last great act as commish.

Pretty much. You got a dude like Westbrook getting fashion deals that aren't the typical basketball/sports apparel related. A couple others have too I think.

it's funny cause they don't really enforce the dress code anymore.

The only part they enforce is that you have to wear a sportscoat if you're inactive sitting on the team bench. Other than that they don't really seem to care.

Hate this rule so much, it clearly has racial implications to it. To those that cite the rule being good and looking at it's effect now are undermining the fact that fashion changes. Without the rule players would not be dressing the same as they did in 2001. We have completely different styles and to the person that said players are looked at as fashion guys now. Players were already looked at for their fashion, they are celebs and most people figure out whats hot and what's wack based of the styles.

Also changing the logo is not needed. Logo is fine,it's iconic. Changing it to MJ would be stupid, are we going to change the logo every 20-30 years depending on who is the new GOAT ?

I don't understand the logic of saying an oversized Tee and baggy jeans are bad for the "game" (it isn't, it doesn't affect how players actually play) while we're all OK with flopping and the non-stop bytching on the court.
makes white people more comfortable thats why its consider good lol and they are the primary consumers for the league.

Nah the league follows whatever is hot in our community/hip hop

Styles would have changed without a rule change. Those same opportunities would have came about

i was having this discussion with my homeboy and his pops one day
and pops been in Harlem like all his life so he straight up ride or die with Kareem
and said the logo should be changed to a silhoutte of Kareem doin the sky hook :banderas:

Would be dope tbh

I don't think it was coincidental that around the same time the AI dress code was implemented, there was an influx of European players, and one Chinaman.

What's that got to do with anything?

Along with making the monkeys presentable, they had to whiten up the league a little bit too.

:francis:

Breh I've seen before on this where for some reason brehs believe Euros only started following the NBA in the mid-00s when more Euro players were going there. That's total bs : it's the Dream Team that changed the perception and made the NBA big, not the fact that some random stiff no-name slovenian was on his way to being a bust on a lottery team.

Plus why the hell would someone in Madrid or in Vilnius care about how players ON THE BENCH are dressed :russ::dead:
