It's been 20 years since the Gorillaz released Demon Days

The sophomore album by the British band which dropped in May 05 and it felt like you couldn't go anywhere at that time without seeing or hearing something from this. And it was well deserved .

This was my first step in expanding my musical tastes outside of Rap/R&B and this was great from start to finish.

Classic tracks like Dirty Harry, Feel Good Inc, November Has Come, great features from DOOM, De La...catchy production. Everything about this album was firing on all cylinders.

This also had some of the craziest promotion I'd ever seen. Remember this was kind of synonymous with the Ipod at the time too. Yall remember those old school ipod commercials with the silhouettes dancing...well it feels like Feel Good Inc was one of the first songs to be used in those ads. I remember the posters being everywhere too.

What's yall thoughts on this album 20 years later?

Because the only good songs to me on the first one were the ones with Del.

It was hyped up as a Del/Automator/ and that Blur guy album.

Fake cartoons, fast changes to line up.

Nah.

The song with Trugoy was great tho if it's on this.

Yes. That track is a classic pop/alternative major hit.

I like when it comes on the radio.

It got a tonne! Of radio play in Toronto when it dropped and alot after.

Did it get alot of radio play in your city? Which city?

The song came across as mature, cool, great music.

Definitely a direction hip hop could have gone in for the better.

I didn't hear much credible hip hop alternative radio hits after.
