Outside of Florida’s Cuban population the percentage of actual white Latinos is low. Most of the immigrants to America are lower class Latinos who are brown. No wealthy Germanic descended Mexican from Mexico City is crossing into America and trying to get naturalized.

Even in Miami the Cubans who claim white would never be mistaken for “white” anywhere else in America no matter what they think they are.

38 million Hispanics identified as “White” in the 2019 American Community Survey. In 2020 only 20 million identified as “White”.

That’s at least 18 million white passing Hispanics identifying as something else the very next year. Considering how much the Latino population has grown and the amount of people who didn’t take that survey, I’m willing to bet there are a whole lot more white Hispanics than you think. There’s also “White Hispanic”, of which 31 million marked down recently.

Additionally, a lot of Brown Hispanics don’t give a fukk about politics. Never seen or heard a landscaping Mexican talk a drop about politics whether they’re working or on a lunch break with their people on some “Si! Si! Kamala Harris! Vote Blue senors!” I live in Cali, never seen an Ese in the voting lines.

Of the Latinos who vote, most likely it’s the White ones. Also quite common in Catholic schools out in Cali or suburban schools to see an abundance a lot of White Latinos.

People still keep confusing race with ethnicity. You got Latinos that are black like Bernie Mac or light skin like Steph Curry. You got white Latinos that look like Ryan Gosling and Taylor Swift.

I feel like there should be more specifics on the types of Latinos who vote and support Trump/Republicans. When articles say Latinos, it's a bit too broad, throws everyone in a box, and overall not clear enough cause there are levels to the term “Latinos”; it's not just one group like it is with, say, White Americans and Black Americans.

As you said, there are Latinos who are clearly of African/Black descent and ones who are of Euro/White descent.

I guarantee you that most of the ones who've voted for Trump are descendants of White ancestry, I don't believe Latinos of African/Black descent support Trump/MAGA shyt, at least not to a big degree. It's mainly the white and white passing ones tryna earn safe passage and an honorary Klan pass .

I have a Brazilian friend who is 90% white with an Italian name. I don’t see any American Latinos that look like him.

Ted Cruz is a Cuban Latino with a white mom. He is not the demographic overstaying their visas or crossing the southern border.

If you go by paternal haplogroups (the paternal line, tge oldest male ancestor, the direct male ancestry, the father of your father…) more than half of the so-called Hispanics or Latinos are descended from Spanish/portguese cacs. Most of the time, the racial mixing was between white men from Spain and Portugal and local Indigenous women or African women(imported slaves from west Africa)
That’s why the paternal line of most Latinos is European and their maternal line is either African or Indigenous. Their oldest male ancestor comes from Europe meanwhile their oldest female ancestor comes from indigenous America or Black Western Africa. Because during colonial times, there weren’t many pure white women in the Spanish colonies of South America. There were some white women there but still the white male to female ratio was clearly much more in Favour of the males. The Spanish/portuguese colonization was not a colonization of settlement like in North America or Australia. They just exploited the rich natural resources on these lands with the help of slaves (mineral resources like gold, iron, silver and agricultural resources like sugar cane, wood, cotton, tobacco, tomatoes, corn, potatoes )there instead of literally creating a new Spain or Portugal like the English colonists did up here with Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada. Most of The Spaniards and Portuguese conquistadors/explorers didn’t bring their women, children, and entire families in the American colonies. The only white population there (Spanish folks born in Spain who came to Spain to rule and manage the colonies, the great landowners/natural ressource exploiters, and Creole population ( white folks born in Mexico, Colombia, etc) was outnumbered by mixed breeds of all kinds, pure native Indians, and pure Africans.

By the way potatoes, tomatoes, sugar cane, tobacco and corn come from the new world(Americas) before columbus no one outside america knew about these native foods of the American continent.
