doesn't it seem like that's the climate we live in? it's cool to be racist, and now you no longer have to be embarrassed about it or hide it under the rug. you can just come out and say racist things and be ok with it. you can have a convention that is a sea of white people and looks like some large scale klan meeting. throwing peanuts at a black professional woman is par for the course; it's to be expected!

we're headed back to the period our parents suffered through.should be interesting.

it's not behind computer screens, not entirely. whites are racist in public far more frequently. they're more racist in hiring, promotion, etc. after this election, depending on the outcome, i have a fear it will be open season on black people.

that is a given, it has always been like this but I am talking about the difference after the fact of the internet, it opened alot of eyes even to white people that turned a cheek to it or said they didnt realize racism didnt exist..and like I said after obama was elected the cats came out the big and was publicly racist showing some serious animosity and hate in the public.

its really amazing to me that a lot of people dont understand obama wasn't elected by grownups. he was elected by young kids who just turned 18 at the time of the election.

this is what worries me this time. theres not enough interest in this election this time to help obama win. its actually kinda scary

that's not actually true. obama garnered a lot of votes in the 25-35 range. just on the extremism we see in the republican party, the enthusiasm to see obama re-elected is still there, even though there is still some frustration over his unfulfilled promises. look at the republican crowd. you didn't see too many young people.

imagine what will happen when obama wins or loses.

- if he wins, they'll get even more enraged, and will not even be subtle with their racism.

- if he loses, they'll get emboldened by romney's victory, seeing it as some grand example of white supremacy. they'll start pushing us back to jim crow.

hating someone because of the color of their skin is stupid, but people are stupid and ignorant.

but the thing is that there is a segment of the majority of the population who hates us for being black , which in itself is a joke. We are not the ones who raped and pillaged, we are not the ones who lynched. for all the things the white man has done to the black man, to the indian man, to the native american man, to the japanese man, to the chinese man, its amazing that they are still viewed as "safe", its amazing all these races have slurs and negative things to say about black people when black folks have done them nothing.

IT's the white man who was putting japanese folks in camps, the white man who was dropping bombs in hiroshima, the white man who was controlling india for years and years, yet thjese folks continue to appease to the white man

people in my generation (18-25) are the least racist ive ever heard. maybe cali is just that liberal, but race seems like a nonfactor in todays society.
