Most people don’t have time to research used car history or they just want what they want new regardless of the price. It is what it is. I know these truck prices are fukin ridiculous and a brother will be copping a used F150 with some miles but in the trim I want at least...
Even the 0% for 72 months deals are iffy since you give up the rebates and a lot of the negotiation in price....shyt still $1000/mo
Finna spend 10s of thousands of dollars over 2-6 years and people don't have time to research their purchase
full
? Those people deserve the worst.

The last used car I bought, I came prepared. Edmunds gave me all the tips. Know the market value of the car you want so you can stay in a good asking price range. Most importantly be prepared to walk out. After the salesman tried to say he couldn't sell it to me for a fair market price and lied about the state taxes, something I already knew about from my side business, I walked out. While I was sitting in my rental on the phone with another dealership inquiring if they still had a car I'd looked at before, the salesman came out with the "I talked to may manager" bs. I got the car, tags and title for exactly what I asked for. After the deal was done he shook my hand while shaking his head and said "you... you were good". I know, I'm the one paying for it. :win:

I wish more people, specifically women, went into these dealerships not giving a fukk, fully prepared and stand firm or leave. It's that simple. They want that sell, therefore you have all the power.

Great post.

I've been driving my used Honda for over 9 years. When this hoopty finally bites the dust, my ass is getting another used Toyota or Honda.
I have a friend daily driving a lexus Ls400 with close to 500k miles. Said he would drive it to Alaska barefooted, with no hesitation.

I got my 08 accord one year used in 2010 been 10 years of driving 250,000 clicks and still going . Won’t get a new car till it dies.

I’ve changed brakes a few times , bought a set of tires. Changed the battery once everything else just fluids , has never stalled on me or giving me any issues

we thank God

Sometimes it's something about new.

If you can afford it why not?

I'm not advocating going into debt for a car note.

But my wife and I have 1 car paid off and 1 car with a note.

When we pay off the note we're gonna pick up a new note.

Cause I like driving new cars and budget wise one note works out fine.

I feel what you are saying OP but not everybody wants to drive a Lexus. We can all pretty much admit they are great new/used cars but they are also pretty boring and say what you want, they still dont have the appeal of a S class or a 750. Yes, I am aware they are a top Lux brand but for me and many others I know they are just too low key. You dont buy a high end luxury marquee because you want to be low key. You wanna be seen and let these mofo's know you stuntin'on'm. Also, one thing you dont talk about why some people end up at these "buy here, pay here" ripoff is bec mofo's dont have the credit. They dont know they can still go to a stealership and get their money taken there but at least they are a bit more regulated and you can get CPO.

Another note, now I would only buy 2 yr old CPO's. Plan is to keep them for few years then trade them for another CPO. Hard lesson learned in a nutshell .. I used to always lease cars until my 2014 535 got smashed by a truck and was totaled. It was on 26th month of a 36m lease @560/m. Insurance cut the BMW financial a check for like 30k and my ass got nothing. I was like daym :ohhh: then was like:mjcry:. Anyway, now I am driving my '10 ford fusion:picard: waiting to take delivery on 2016 Model S. Supposed to be here in 3 weeks. Model S comes w/4yr 50k bumper to bumper from date I receive it. I used to always lease cars going back to '05 from Inifniti FXs, GS Lex then moved on to German (E class + 5 series)

Folks going into debt paying $600/month for the next 84 months:picard: All because they think some shyt they buy used gone explode:gucci: How about not going to Buy Here Pay Here car lots first off?:mjlol:

The information about each and every model year is right at your finger tips. You got forums who own those models and will tell you everything about them. You got a lot of YouTube car reviewers would will break down all the aspects. It's so much info that doesn't take long to find. As long as you stay away from the Germans you good. Toyota, Honda, Lexus right off the bat are what a majority of people should be going to. You never buy these new because they're bought buy older golf playing dad and soccer moms, folks who go to the grocery store and back then trade it in off lease. Then there's Infinity who have a solid track record

Here's a 2015 Lexus GS for $21,000 with 66,000 miles. Some old cac with money was driving this so it's very likely it was taken care of
Used 2015 Lexus GS 350 for Sale (with Photos) - CarGurus

How many of y'all new cars look that good and got that type of luxury:sas2: As for maintenance items like brakes, either get that taken off the price or have them do it. Not hard to look at records. Not to mention there's plenty of videos showing beginners how to do break jobs.

But y'all gone head and keep buying new and trading it in and staying in debt:mjlol:

How can there be a market for used cars if no one buys a new one?

:hhh:

That’s exactly why this is smart dumb nikka advice because yall act like Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, and all the other manufacturers produce both new and used cars out the factory and people are simply opting for the least economic option.

What is really happening is people are buying new cars and they are refurbished and resold on the market for a reduced rate which you are taking advantage of. But what you sacrifice with that bargain is not having the latest and greatest vehicle the industry is offering.

At the end of the day, denigrating people for purchasing new cars just shows that you don’t know shyt about how the market works. You’re literally shytting on the people who make your plan even feasible. If you knew the market you would be advocating for more and more new car purchases so that it’ll create a stronger market for used cars.

:rudy:

Here’s some real advice: buy what you can afford and don’t overextend yourself in materialistic pursuits. The next model of the car you have is gonna have the 500 gigablaster audio while yours has the 300 gigablaster...if you live your life for the flex, you will always be chasing the flex.

how the fuk you think folks get caught up paying for 6-7 years on a piece of shyt German car that is pretty much worthless after 3 years of payments and the fuker needs $5000 in repairs....all just to try and stunt. They don’t research what it takes to keep it running or the costs for repairs...all they see is that star, that propeller, or them rings on the hood...

The semi annual ‘ I drive Honda accord/civics or Toyota corollas with 280k’ miles on it and if you don’t do the same you’re a fool thread :krs:
Nobody saying drive a 94’ Corolla.

Mans just saying it’s plenty of used cars that are 5, 10, shyt even 15 years old you can still pull up clean in and not break the bank or have a ridiculous note

07 TL Type S you can get for probably 5-8k cash
