It's crazy how some people know NOTHING about politics.

Like, how do you live day by day in this country without even the most basic idea of the shyt or how it works?
I say this about current events..I mean, I understand why some folks aren't interested in politics but how do u not watch the news/read a blog every once in a while..some people just aren't as connected to the tv/internet like others, I guess..

In what sense or you saying politics. Like foreign policy and stuff. Or just the stuff we learned in Government class in high school(everyone at my high school had to pass this class to graduate).

Being politically literate isn't just about us as individuals tho. We have to be on top of this stuff

I know more about world issues than American politics I read a lot of BBC , BBC Africa , al jazzera, time and the guardian on my Facebook feed
Whenever people dont understand just how important at least knowing the fukking name of your alderman is, I know that they are the least helpful type,of folks when shyt goes down. Who is your police chief?
The superintendent? Familiar with your local chamber of commerce?
The people who dont know these things are of absolutely no help when there comes time for action, whether dealing with police corruption or something as simple as getting small business loans. Knowing names at least lets you know who to harrass when shyt isnt getting done.
