When I moved down South the first time, a friend of mine who was originally from Chicago told me that he didn't like NY rap except for DMX and the Lox. He said that even out in the Chi they were bumping Ruff Ryders Anthem hard when it came out.

Remembers 1998, when X came thru :cape: and Snoop Dogg the Building:wow:

...twice, with FOMFBOMB follow-up:banderas:

X debut is Classic from start-to-finish, but I could never get pass Let Me Fly without repeatin it:

I'm a flow regardless because I'm an artist until I'm trapped
I'ma continue to hit he hardest whether I scrap or rap
Give me death but you ain't my friend
I see it in your eyes, you contemplate my end
You waitin' for that bin in the road, where you were told
that you would go, when you were old
and if you died young, it was told

...the way he rode the third verse:lawd:

Classic. A must-have for any serious Hip-Hop fan.

A real game changer.

Dame Grease did an excellent work on this album. Better than Swizz. It should be noted.

ATF is still my favorite song on the album.

I used to paint the picture in my mind everytime...and I always switched it up mentally

Love that song man

ATF is one of the best storytelling tracks I've ever heard. especially the way Dame put all those ambulance, siren noises in there. shyt was like a film. I remember zoning the fukk out to that joint.

I bet there are real hip hop lames who'll say "X aint lyrical and never said important shyt" but will stan some garbage rappity-rap dude who has no personality and can't tell a story half as well as ATF
