I have yet to hear a better album than IDAHIH:yeshrug:it's street reality mixed with introspection mixed with crazy energy mixed with amazing production

GRODT is the first rap CD I ever had and I probably know most of the songs word for word

and I still pick DMX debut because it blew my mind
There's plenty of albums better than IDAHIH

...or you're just an objective person and you truly just think that X had the better album. I don't dislike 50 at all, thats my f'n guy, but X is a better rapper and his music hit harder. It's not like a landslide, Get Rich was fire, but It's Dark is just better, to me. There's no right or wrong answer here, just opinions. Get Rich was carried by 50's personality and the production...It's Dark had those 2 elements plus X was snappin on that shyt!
:Pgroot:
What?
:whoa:

All I'm saying is that you can create a thread saying "insert random album from a popular rapper" vs. GRODT. And the inserted random album will come out on top. People hate 50 more than they like random rapper.
IDAHIH is great. But come one when people are naming their top10 albums of all time that shyt is never mentioned unless the thread is about IDAHIH is a top10 album of all time. GRODT on the other hand has been a certified classic since its release, and revisionist ass posters on the coli wanna change that.

I dare you to try me on this :smugdraper:

Examples could be:

400 degreez vs. GRODT
The Documentary vs. GRODT
Any of Beanie Sigels first three albums vs. GRODT
Any 90s album from Redman vs. GRODT

etc etc etc

I swear, GRODT will come out as the loser each time

I don't recall anyone saying anything bad about Em's production on GRODT. I've never really liked GRODT all that much, but hearing responses from people who thought it was incredible, the Em productions were highlights and some of them didn't know or care that Em produced them.

GRODT is not this masterpiece you are making it out to be.
It’s a 4 mic album. 4.5 if you are being very generous.
It’s not even a top 50 album all time.

50 could do no wrong at that point.
He literally could have been rhyming over shytars pots and pans.

I never understood the hype for the album.

Since you're a mobb deep stan I assume you were there when GRODT was released.

GRODT has been a certified classic since its release. Not only impact and swag, but its content and production. It extended New York life expectancy with several years. You had album cuts not even being singles charting on the lists. I think it was Flex or Clue who just repeated In da club for a whole hour.
People let the progress 50s career had after Massacre cloud their judgement when it come to GRODT and even Massacre. Make no mistake shyt is classic in every damn sense. Just like Infamous and Hell on Earth is.
