It's funny how dr dre's album Compton came and went

and made absolutely zero fukking impact. First album in 16 years and I don't know one person listening to it or talk about it anymore besides the first week it released.

The album was awful and now I know why detox never came out

It dropped within a week's notice. There weren't singles or even promo like that outside of what he did with his radio show. You could argue that the Straight Outta Compton movie promoted, but it's not like the music on Compton had much to do with the biopic other than Dre and features from Cube, and shout outs/tributes to Eazy E, Ren, and Yella.

So no, it wasn't going to have the staying power of the Chronic classics especially in era where new music is only a click away. There's literally a thread about every big release "coming and going and having no impact".

It's a very good album. That's all I care about. Dre did his legacy proud. Dude is 50 plus and did 200k on purely digital sales with one week's notice
