It was a mediocre album. Both him and Lamar dropped mediocre albums.

I knew that was going to happen. However, the media and individuals at the time of release like to big up them for a week or so before it fizzles out exponentially.

I got into arguments about this album and the lamar album with people who couldn't distinguish the fact that they were just excited they had new albums from whether the album was actually good or not.

First and second day I was telling them both these albums relative to their release times were lackluster and they weren't hearing it.

However, I didn't hear anyone bumping that shyt anymore or talking about it after about a week:mjlol:

From both albums, the only one track I still listen to now is King Kunta

It dropped within a week's notice. There weren't singles or even promo like that outside of what he did with his radio show. You could argue that the Straight Outta Compton movie promoted, but it's not like the music on Compton had much to do with the biopic other than Dre and features from Cube, and shout outs/tributes to Eazy E, Ren, and Yella.

So no, it wasn't going to have the staying power of the Chronic classics especially in era where new music is only a click away. There's literally a thread about every big release "coming and going and having no impact".
Ehh this is true but it's also nowhere near as good as either chronic. Has zero standout moments, forgettable melodies in the beats and hooks, forgettable flows as well

Of course it's not better than either Chronic. Nothing he could ever create would compare. As far as it being forgettable, these threads about how forgettable it's supposed to be contradict that. "Forgettable" is the most overused and misused term to describe music on here instead of just giving an opinion.

I've still yet to listen to it. Then again you wouldn't believe the amount of threads I've bookmarked with albums that I plan on checking out and haven't gotten through one fourth of them yet. Far too much music gets released nowadays.

According to the credits, Dre only co-produced like 4-6 songs on Compton. The only albums that Dre's produced that are Chronic level were before the original Chronic. Doggystyle is the only other Dre produced album that's on par (I personally think it's better) with either Chronic album.

I think it's better too. And yes all the albums i consider amongst the chronic were before it also (cept doggysytle). Doggystyle,nikkaz4life,SOC,No can do it better. I'd give the chronic the nod over a couple of them, but they're still all greatness
