I know countless women of color who have languished for years in relationships with white men who they loved deeply, trying desperately to understand how this person who was so important to them could say things that hurt them so much.

I'll be honest. Dead honest. Don't care if i get negged.I mean they're going to do what you allow them to do. Obviously if it gets to that point, you should leave and I'm sure there were warning signs of the such before then. But if you allow it to continue, that's on you.
I don't knock what another person does, but as a proud black man I just couldn't see myself with a white person long term. Interracial relationship with a woman of another minority group? Sure. But the dynamic of an interracial relationship with a white person just seems like more stress than it is worth. Got to deal with them not being able to understand you when it comes to modern day institutional racism, got to deal with their friends/family not accepting you, got to deal with possibly being nothing more than a fetish, playing down your personality to show that you aren't like "them", I could go on and on. Not too long ago we couldn't even use the same bathrooms so let's stop pretending like there aren't going some hang ups if you get in a relationship with these people.
Relationships are already hard enough, I don't need all that other BS just for some pale skin. Dating white people and not expecting issues is like dating a former prostitute and not expecting issues. Yeah, it could theoretically work out, but you're rolling the dice here.

I don't see why people are surprised by this? Almost everyone is dating interracially nowadays. If a black woman wants to date a white guy, that's her choice. If you as a man want to date a nonblack woman, go ahead lol. Live and let live. I will add this though, I have noticed that more more and more black women from middle and upper middle class families are exclusively dating white guys. Is that bad? Not really it's their preference. I'm probably going to get negged to death for this but oh well. At the end of the day women will gravitate to the Alphas or providers of all races. The whole "i don't date white/asian etc. guys" is a myth. When choosing men women will almost always go after the providers/alphas. If a woman can't get an alpha or a provider from her own race then she will just find one in another race. It's not that hard to understand lol. A lot of butthurt people in this thread for sure.
