ppl use these vaugue terms to avoid being in certain groups, or to closely associate themselves with certain groups...

When gays have their rights, they're gay.
When they're fighting for their rights , and need help, they're minorities.

Latinos are Latinos , until they run into green card problems, and need immigration reform, then they become people of color and minorities.

Blk ppl call themselves ppl of color, and minorities to avoid being associated with SOLEY blacks.
